What To Do With Those Closet Windows in Austin

Awesome! You have a closet large enough to have a window.  Jealous?  Most would be, except “frustrated” would probably be the best word to describe how the home owner feels.   We have all seen the closet windows that face the front of the house or the neighbor’s window. It is a great idea to have natural light in a closet, except that everyone driving by can see your untidy space or the neighbor can see you changing in what you would consider the most private spot in your home.  Closets tend to be a catch all for items not desired to be seen such as, storage, laundry piles, linens, etc.

Closet Stained Glass Windows

Austin Closet Stained Glass WindowsWhat can you do with those awesomely pesky closet windows?  Blinds…yet you lose the natural light, and when there open, everyone still can see your untidy space.  A better solution for those closet windows would be a stained glass window.  Leaded glass can be custom made to fit your existing window and design style.  In addition, the stained glass window will provide as much or more natural light.  How can it provide “more” natural light you may wonder?   With the use of clear, heavy textured glass and beveled glass, you can refract more light into the room which will brighten up the closet, yet the use of the textured glass will provide the privacy.  The stained glass window will look great in the front of the house, unlike awkward blinds in small windows, yet still allow the closet window to function.

As closets seem to be getting larger, windows are becoming necessary to keep the exterior from looking so bland, especially on the front of the home.  If you are lucky enough to have a closet worthy of a window, than embrace it and consider a leaded glass panel or stained glass window to enhance the interior and exterior of your home, but most importantly provide the privacy and natural light to your closet.
